In essence, it can be said that solid pool covers are the highest form of pool covers because among all the other types, it is the only one that provides absolute coverage for your swimming pool. Nothing can get through it provided that it is installed properly. Other covers such as mesh and net pool covers on the other hand can only filter out certain debris.
Above ground pool covers are a practical item, but they are also highly visible. Your cover will stretch across your pool in the backyard where everyone can see it. That means you may want to at least consider your aesthetic preferences before making a purchase. Covers are usually made in muted, natural colors, but some are slightly louder. Besides, some people may really have an aversion to some of the more neutral options.
When your winter pool cover fits properly, spring or summer openings will obviously go more smoothly. Tightly fitting covers prevent dirt, leaves and other debris from accumulating in and dirtying the water. This means that you will need to do less vacuuming and water straining once the winter is over. Best of all, a cleaner pool as a result of a good winter cover will mean that you can get back to swimming faster when the warmer weather arrives.
With this being said, people often run out and buy a pool cover, but then another problem arises. A cover is great for keeping the pool clean and free of dirt, bugs, and leaves but a cover can also be quite a hassle to put on the pool and take off. For many people who own a pool the cover can be so annoying that you end up not taking it off because it is so time consuming. On the other hand, when you do take it off, it seems to take forever to put it back on again!
Investing in warranty-backed covers will also save your money. You will also avoid spending too much in your pool's maintenance since cover keeps your pool clean and crystal clear.
