There are a few things you will want to buy along with an above ground pool in addition to mandatory supplies like a liner. One of those items is a cover. Above ground pool covers offer two very strong benefits. If you are going to have a pool, you are going to want to have a cover, as well.
In the modern age of swimming pool design there are virtually unlimited ways to incorporate an automatic pool cover into the build. In the past, you were pretty much limited to a plain rectangle pool with an industrial looking aluminum lid to cover the recessed mechanism housing. This mind-set has become a thing of the past.
Solar pool covers can save up to 97% of water evaporation loss. This then greatly reduces the need to top up the pool during the course of the year. This means that the pool owner is not drawing water from the city supply or harvested rain water stored in tanks to top up water lost through evaporation. A leaf and debris cover’s ability to reduce evaporation is less than that of a solar blanket but still significant. In both cases, the cover’s ability to stop or greatly reduce evaporation is a great benefit to the environment and preserving our natural water asset.
