The leading edge of the cover system can be completely tucked under the recessed housing lid by using custom designed brackets that extend towards the water’s edge. The lowered bond beam is then notched during construction stage, to allow for a pocket for the rigid leading edge of the cover to tuck into. Water level needs to be taken into consideration during construction to keep the leading edge from dragging through the water. This can be accomplished by the lowering of the skimmers one to two inches from normal elevation.
A further cost saving is where a solar heating system is employed; pool covers are often used to support the effort of the solar heating system. A pool cover’s heat retention ability usually means that the solar heating system does not have to be run as long and so saves power.
Apart from heat loss, the solar in-ground pool covers prevent the chemicals in the water from evaporating along with it. This means that you will save on your water bill. In addition, you will have to add chemicals to the water less often. This solution is cost-effective, but, more importantly, you will save a lot of time and effort. Perhaps the main benefit of this function of the solar cover is that your pool will remain cleaner. As the chemicals will not evaporate quickly, the water will be safe from the formation of bacteria. No debris or leaves will fall in the tank either.
